Carolyn Russ Francis is a devoted educator, community leader, and servant-hearted advocate whose life reflects her unwavering commitment to excellence, faith, and service. Known for her compassion and dedication, she has become a respected voice in both educational and civic spaces.
A proud graduate of James A. Shanks High School, Class of 1981, Carolyn continued her education at Nova Southeastern University, earning a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education. She later obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. She currently holds professional certifications in Elementary Education (Grades 1–6), Reading Endorsement, and Educational Leadership (All Levels).
Carolyn’s career as an educator spans 37 years. Though she retired in 2023, her passion for teaching and leadership called her back into the field in 2024. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in advancing literacy and academic achievement, mentoring teachers, and ensuring that children are equipped with the tools to succeed.
Beyond her professional work, Carolyn is deeply rooted in her faith and community. She is a dedicated member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Quincy, FL, where she serves faithfully in ministry and fellowship. She is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Tau Zeta Quincy Chapter, which she joined in December 2019, continuing her legacy of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and finer womanhood.
In addition, Carolyn proudly serves as the First Vice President of the Gadsden County Branch #5149. She also served as Councilwoman for the City of Midway, FL.
NAACP, where she actively supports initiatives that strengthen civic engagement, social justice, and community advancement.
Carolyn is the proud mother of three sons and the loving grandmother of two grandchildren, who remain her greatest joys and inspirations.
Guided by her faith, Carolyn lives by the belief that “To God be the Glory for the Things He Has Done.” Her personal motto reflects her values of integrity, perseverance, and compassion. She is proud to be recognized not only for her professional achievements but also for her character as a kindhearted, Christian woman who enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, and extending love through acts of service.
